Coffee, run, showers, and off we go. Overcast, occasional spits of rain. Thought to nose into a nice area to anchor, but chart showed 12+, we quickly hit 1.5'. Russ was piloting and backed out hard. Continued to originally planned anchorage, Dry Creek, Jax piloting, entry quickly went to <3 under keel, backed out. Asked a local fisherman, who said river was down and it was shallow. Decided to return to Goat Island near Lake Barkley State Marina, then given the forecast for storms overnight and tomorrow decided to do the marina. Another disorganized operation, but we're in a nice slip. Fuel is $3.40/gal, not bad, so may fuel up in the morning.
